The projects described below have been carried out by us working together as a team. In our
full CV’s details of other assignments that we have undertaken are given.
Zaporizhstal wished to purchase a new pickling line from Voest Alpine Industries as part of a
much wider investment programme covering the replacement of the open-hearth furnaces and
modernisations of the mills. The study examined the company’s ability to carry out the project,
its feasibility, and the ability to repay a loan that would then be guaranteed by OeKB. The work
included the technical, environmental, markets and financial issues arising from the investment
programme as a whole.
The preparation of a feasibility study for investment and turnaround and pre due-diligence
report on a European steel group involved in scrap collection, steel manufacturing and steel
distribution
Technical and commercial due diligence was carried out for the eventual buyer of Erdemir,
covering the technical condition of the plant, a review of its extensive investment programme,
an analysis of its market opportunities and a financial model used for valuation purposes.

Technical and commercial due diligence was carried out at PSMC for a potential buyer. This
covered a technical review of the plant and a cash flow model used for valuation.
A review of the National Restructuring Plan, including the preparation of individual business
plans for Zeljezara Split and Zeljezara Sisak and a recommended action plan for the
restructuring of the sector.
A technical and commercial audit of a seamless tube mill for a prospective buyer. The work
included a review of plant performance and markets, together with a valuation.
Advisors to the Government of Montenegro on the sale of this special steels plant. The work
included the preparation of the Information Memorandum, a valuation of the plant, and
assistance with reviewing the bids and negotiating with purchasers.
A review of the National Restructuring Plan prepared for Accession negotiations. This project
resulted in the preparation of market projections, an audit of state aid disbursed to steel
companies, a restructuring action plan, and individual business plans for Vitkovice and Nova
Hut steelworks. The resulting programme allowed the chapter of the Accession Treaty on steel
to be finalised and the amount of future state aid agreed.
